BUSINESS MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Business is booming! That's what the headlines say. We know that you're fighting for every square inch of turf you can in the marketplace. You're surrounded by change. Technology, distribution channels, customer expectations...if any one of them would stay still, maybe then you could get the foothold you've been looking for. Even if you're making more profit than ever before, and some are, this wave has to hit shore sooner or later. Whether we stay on top or are caught in the under tow will be the key to survival.

The difference between those who succeed and those who don't is always reflected in how they've met the perceptions of their customers and how well they've satisfied their customers expectations. Perceptions and expectations. Not much solid in either of those terms, and they change with each customer. How much do you know about what your customers expect from you and what their perceptions are of your business... really!

CPA's Business Membership can help you with both.

We've learned that customers want two things from a product or service. First, they want to receive what they thought they were buying...expectations. Disappointment, the difference between what a person expects and what they receive, is always the cause for complaints. And, complaints can be either a significant of your early warning system for staying ahead of the wave, or a part of your crushing defeat. Secondly, customers want to know the answer to their most important question, "Who do I go to when something goes wrong?" They have been so abused by poor service and the evasive, finger pointing, blaming behavior of some businesses that they don't trust any of us any more.

That's why Consumer Protection Association of America was formed. And, why what we do works, even when others fail. We really are advocates for fairness in the marketplace. Our protocols and process are based in fairness, backed up by common sense...the law is the last resort. We know that laws are created because people don't do what's "right." That's why our code of ethics is so simple, and why it includes both customers and the businesses that serve them.

When you sign up as a Business Member, you agree:

  • to abide by the Code of Standards and Ethics of CPA, promising to be honest and legal in your offerings to customers, responsive to their requests for information or problems, and to follow CPA's protocols for resolution if you are unable to satisfy the customer.

We agree:

  • to provide you with our Business Member logo to use in your store, advertising and promotions
  • to assist you in assessing your advertising, policies and procedures, and all printed materials to see where you may be setting yourself up for creating disappointment in your customers, even when you don't intend to do so
  • to list you on our web site as one of the "Good Guys" and publicize the importance of the CPA Business Member logo through an aggressive promotional campaign
  • to work with you to resolve any dispute which may arise and which you have not been able to settle using your internal processes. CPA's protocols provide documentation which have been used by businesses to forestall actions by states attorney's general, the Federal Trade Commission and lawyer's who have been approached by customers looking for someone on whom to vent their wrath and frustration.

As a Business Member your dealings with your customers is protected by CPA's services for the basic first year fee of $595.00. This includes your Business Member fee of $395.00 per business location per year and $200.00 to provide you with your business assessment and consultation. If you have special needs, you may want to hire one of our business support specialists for additional work, however, the basic fees cover all but the most involved businesses.Ê If you also have a web site and want to become a e-Service Partner, that requires an additional application and nominal fee.

CONSUMER PROTECTION ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA

CPA is a member organization that invites businesses and their customers to join together to change how business will be done into the 21st century. CPA gives members and others effective tools for communication and complaint resolution no matter where or when the transaction takes place. Whether you're a business or a consumer, when someone promises to provide you with a product or service, you deserve to get what you expect!

When you receive more than you expect...let the business know with CPA's Thank You! card. And, when you don't, use CPA's You Blew It! card. As a member, you receive copies of both to hand out in person...or, send them via e-mail using the links provided.

If you need to, file a complaint following CPA's guidelines and sample complaint letter. And, if the business still doesn't do the "right thing", you can file a formal complaint with CPA. We can even provide formal arbitration services if needed.
